Properties
Analgesic, anodyne, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, anticholinergic, anti-nausea, anti-anxiety, and sedative.
Topical products can take 1-2 hours to take effect.
Applications
Muscle Balm can be used topically for the temporary relief of pain and inflammation in muscles, joints, tendons, and the spine. Massage the balm into the effected area and allow area to air dry for 10-20 minutes to relieve nerve damage, nerve pain, back pain, sciatica, pulled muscles, tense muscles, tendinitis, bursitis, carpal tunnel, arthritis, and rheumatism.
Muscle Balm is antispasmodic and can be applied topically to the effected area for the temporary relief of muscle spasms and muscle cramping.
Belladonna is a nervine relaxant and has the ability to calm the nerves, reduce physical and psychological tension, and directly affects the nervous system to induce sleep. The balm rubbed into the temples, neck, and shoulders may help one relax and fall asleep. If applied to the affected area 1-2 hours before bedtime it may help with sleeping through anxiety, chronic pain, or the pain of a recent injury. Use once per day for 1-3 weeks. Not recommended for daily long-term use as a sedative.
Ingredients
Made with atropa belladonna, poplar buds (populus balsamifera), sunflower oil (helianthus annuus), and beeswax.
Botanical Safety
Toxic, do not ingest. For external use only. Do not apply to mucus membranes. Do not apply to broken skin. Keep away from children and pets.
Sedative, may cause extreme drowsiness.
Do not use belladonna ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have glaucoma, heart, liver, or kidney issues.
Do not use if you are already on an anticholinergic medication. Do not use for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after a scheduled surgery as surgeries use anticholinergics.
Do not use if allergic to salicylates.
Discontinue use if allergic reaction such as a rash or contact dermatitis appears.

Storage
Store in a dry environment out of direct light.
Seasonal note: salves and lip balms can lose stability and liquify if exposed to freezing temperatures or hot temperatures over 27° C (81° F). Medicinal properties remain intact, however.
Shelf life is 2-3 years after purchase.
