Wormwood (artemisia absinthium) is a wild medicinal plant found throughout temperate areas of Europe and Asia. It an be toxic if ingested in large amounts and the living plant can cause contact dermatitis in some people (mainly those with a ragweed allergy). Wormwood is used in traditional medicine, to flavour liqueurs and digestives, and in perfumery. Harvest the flowering tops for medicine or essential oil production before the flowers turn brown.
Growing Instructions: Sow directly in soil in spring, late summer, or fall. Can be started indoors a few weeks before the last frost. Cold hardy. Plants can be transplanted. Please note wormwood is a very large and tall plant and is not suitable for indoor container gardening.
