Sacred to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, narcissus flowers represent the sun and rebirth. Daffodils were used in ancient medicine to treat pain, anxiety, and soothe skin issues and they are used in modern medicine to treat dementia, Alzheimer’s, and memory loss. A modern symbol of cancer research, daffodils’ constituents are showing promise in treating uterine cancer, for which narcissus species were recommend for treating as early as 460-370 BCE by Hippocrates.
Instructions:
To work with a flower essence, take three drops under your tongue or in a beverage 1-3 times a day for a period of 3, 6, or 9 days, weeks, or months depending on your situation.
Flower essences can be taken before meditation or prayer while focusing on the intention behind their use. Essences can be used externally in baths or to anoint or cleanse people, places, or objects. Flower essences are meant to be used with intention and mindfulness as part of a daily ritual. Each time you use it, internally or externally, think about what healing or help you hope to gain from the plant and focus on your goal for a few moments. Then give your thanks to the plant and go on about your day.
